No idea what that title means. This is a long one because podcasting is like poop. If you wait too long between shows things get backup up and it’s a real problem. First part of the show is tech/connected world. Data storage stuff and my iPod battery woes. Second part is typical 3 Ring Podcast with the mystery of diet coke marketing and reality tv updates.

It was bound to happen, now it’s almost here. Podcasts on cell phones by Melodeo. Only problem is data bandwidth. If you are already paying for a bulk plan it might work but like me I have a certain amount of bulk data and the overage is charged, downloading podcasts could cost a fortune. Not to mention the time to download if you are not on a high speed cell data network. Not to mention, do I really want to waste precious cell phone battery life on playing music/podcasts/watching video? I am still not a beliver in the cell phone as the center off all things.

From LUG Radio, here is a nice podcast interview with some Nokia Engineers about the new Nokia 770 tablet, my new love.

Still struggling, TIVO is giving it a go with Internet downloads. I think this is great and hope they can pull it off. If you can get all your content from downloads, you don’t have to worry about program schedules and broadcasts ending a little late, so you miss the last part of the show, ect.

Of course broadcasters don’t like it. They actually get paid per subscriber from Cable and satellite operators. And they don’t like TIVO anyway since you can skip commericals. They already screw with TIVO anyway by starting and ending their shows not on time to mess up your recording.

Microsoft claims the iPod will come under increased pressure from competitors by Christmas. Ok. Others have taken their swipe. I don’t see anything from Microsoft that will change this. Half of the iPod success is because of industrial design and Samsung et all just can’t compete.
