About

steampunk ipodI have always had an affinity for the future and technology. I loved Star Trek, Star Wars and Space 1999. I was an avid gamer in the video arcades back when games were just a quarter. I love the books of Robert A. Heinlein, especially Tunnel in the Sky. I used to read Omni magazine.

When I really fell in love with computers, however, is when I got my hands on one for the first time. It was a Commodore PET. Incredibly PET stands for “Personal Electronic Transactor”. My best friend’s mom was a teacher and they had them at her school. She would bring home the PET on the weekends and we would play Monopoly on it among other things. It was an archaic computer by todays standards. You loaded programs by using a cassette tape drive and pushing play.

In time I begged my father for an Apple //e and finally he relented. I added a 1200 baud modem to it and was soon dialing into old school text based bbs’s and larger information services. I was connected. That was the crack that hooked me for good. I’ve been online ever since.

This site focuses on my passions surrounding technology. It’s at the corner of technology and media where you find connectedness and that’s what turns me on. That’s where I live.
